A novel dual-band bandpass filter (BPF) using dual-mode zeroth-order resonators (ZORs) is proposed, which are quite compact with size of only 1/15 guided wavelength (λg). As a consequence, a significant size reduction over 87% is realized for the resulting BPFs. Furthermore, the center frequencies of the proposed BPF can be controlled independently, a dual-band BPF with a large center frequency ratio (3.18) is accordingly designed. For demonstration, the proposed filter is fabricated and measured, and good agreement between the measurements and simulations can be observed.
