Gallium Diffused Lithium Niobate Optical Waveguide

摘要

Single mode waveguide operating at 1550 nm wavelength has been fabricated in lithium niobate using gallium ions in-diffusion. Extraordinary and ordinary refractive indices are increased supporting TM and TE modes, respectively, and the diffusivity of gallium is one order of magnitude higher than that of titanium.
