With the rapid development of size of distribution network and the steady progress of deep application of distribution data, it is an important subject to further improve the accuracy of fault location system, to improve the service level and efficiency for repairing the distribution network and to solve the problem that it is difficult to realize the fault location when power failure occurs in lines of the distribution network for low-voltage consumers. The practical deployment of national grid electricity information acquisition system indicates that, local communication technology is the key technology for establishing the electricity information acquisition system. Micro-power wireless communication technology can solve the access problem of "Last Mile" in the local communication system due to advantages of stability, reliability and real-time, thus having a broad application prospect. This article introduces an optimization solution for fault location based on the whole network perception technology in micro-power wireless communication. The micro-power wireless whole network perception technology perceives on-line states of nodes via the micro-power wireless network to reflect power supply condition of the nodes by utilizing a communication network of the conversational electricity information acquisition system, such that the real-time monitor of low-voltage lines can be realized, the probability of mistakenly reporting the power failure can be reduced, and a technical support can be provided for fault location, communication infrastructures can be established for evolution to the future intelligent power grid orientated to "Internet +", and the effect of intelligent distribution network establishment in optimizing management of the power grid and service for consumers can be presented.
