A perturbed-Euler similarity rule is uncovered for a pointed body supporting attached shock waves that relates the solutions of energy deposited state with that of the energy deposited free state in terms offield/surface-pressures, shock shape and wave drag. This similarity relation indicates quantitatively that the surface pressures and wave. drags increase with increased energy deposition strength, while decrease with energy extraction. The present work is relevant to the studies of hypersonic flights and supersonic combustion applications.
