ON THE VIBRATION DAMPING CONTROL OF THE INPUT SECTION OF A HELICOPTER MAIN DRIVE-TRIAN SYSTEM INCORPORATING SQUEEZE FILM DAMPER
The vibration damping control of the input section of a helicopter drive-train system incorporating squeeze film damper was investigated in this paper. A dynamic simulation model of the input section system was built using the MSC/ADAMS software. The quasi-static and dynamic responses of the input section system in drive mode under static, transient and steady state loading conditions were obtained through time-domain simulations. The effectiveness of squeeze film damper on the vibration energy dissipation of the input section, and the effects of damping coefficients and mounting stiffness at different bearing mounting locations of the input section on the dynamic response of the input section system were studied respectively. The dynamic response of the input section system in free-wheel mode was also simulated. Detailed results will be presented in this paper.
