CARBON ACCOUNTING 101

摘要

Greenhouse gases (GHG) are emitted from a very wide variety of societal and natural processes. Accurately and consistently estimating the amount of emissions from these processes is scientifically important, and it is vitally important to the successful design and implementation of regulatory programs that control GHG emissions. Here we briefly describe the primary methodologies, techniques, and resources available for estimating emissions from fossil fuel combustion, industrial processes and activities, and biological processes that may be encountered in a GHG emission inventory.
