In this paper, we present a combined inimersed-boundary/ghost-fluid sharp interface method for the simulations of three-dimensional two-phase flows interacting with moving bodies on fixed Cartesian grids. This work is based on a sharp interface immersed boundary method for fluid flows interacting with moving bodies'2 and a level set based ghost fluid method (GFM) for two-phase interface treatment.21''''' Several cases with different scales are used to validate our numerical method. In the first case, the parasitic current in still fluid induced by numerical errors is chosen to show the accuracy of our ghost fluid implementation for very small scale problems. Then the small scale cases of water exit and entry of a circular cylinder are used to demonstrate how the immersed boundary approach works together with ghost fluid method. Finally, the case of waves generated by sliding mass is presented to illustrate the applicability of our method in large scale problems.
