Estimation of spacecraft hiten's impact point on the moon based on surface images taken by an onboard camera

After two-year's planned missions, HITEN, a Japan's space-engineering spacecraft, was inserted into a lunar orbit in February 1992. Due to the high ellipticity of the orbit, it was perturbed by the Earth's and the Sun's gravity, and the spacecraft finally impacted the Moon in April 1993.
