This paper presents new development of power micromodule for low power DC-DC applications suitable for Point-of-load (PoL) applications. The power module is a buck type of DC-DC converter for input voltage 2.7V to 5.5V. The output voltage is adjustable between 0.6V and 5V and the output current of module is 600mA. The module is very small with lateral dimensions 3.2mm × 2.5mm × 1.6mm. In the same package the IC, inductor and input and output capacitors are integrated. For fabrication of the micromodule the embedded inductor technology is applied. At the same time the inductor serves not only as inductor component for DC-DC converter but also as substrate for assembling of other components. On the embedded inductor the IC chip and two ceramic capacitors are assembled.
