Generation of realistic infrared and visible images

Abstract: This paper deals with a computer program to calculate radiance map. A scene is described with a set of polygons. Each polygon has its own spectral reflectivity and its own temperature. Radiances and transmissions are calculated with LOWTRAN7. We explain our radiometric equation choice and how we use LOWTRAN7 code to minimize error calculation on transmission. We show comparison between photographs and simulated images for two different spectral bands (8 - 12 $mu@m versus 3 - 5 $mu@m).!3
