Cotacticities and Coisotacticparameters of Copoly(vinyl ester)s Obtained by Radical Copolymerizations

Cotacticities of copoly(vinyl ester)s were determined from ~1H-NMR spectrum of poly(viny) alcohol)s derived by saponification from the respective copolymers. Computer simulation of tacticities was carried out on the basis of these data by the terminal model and cotacticities of copolymers with linear alkyl substituents could be well simulated by the model. However those of copolymers with secondary, tertiary alkyl or aromatic substituents could not be well simulated by the terminal model and simulations by a penultimate model were examined.
