Surface plasmon resonance (SPR) phenomena have attracted considerable attention because of the strong enhancement and confinement ofelectric fields near metal surfaces. Recently, further enhancement of surface plasmon-electric field was theoretically shown by the interactionbetween graphene and plasmonic metals. In this work, we designed and fabricated graphene/metallic grating structures, which exhibitedfurther enhancement of the electric field due to the interaction between grating-coupled surface plasmon and graphene layers. The enhancedelectric field properties were studied by surface plasmon spectroscopy and surface plasmon enhanced fluorescence measurements.
