The key to research is consistency and reproducibility of results. Being able to get these results quickly and have them be scalable is key to moving biotherapeutic development from the research phase into the clinic and ultimately to market. While transient gene expression is a rapid and cost-effective means of protein production, particularly during early development and preclinical stages, most transient transfection methods do not meet the requirements of consistency, reproducibility, speed, and scalability.
