Methodology for Establishing Intensity Level Maps of Electromagnetic Fields in Hospitals

An important issue to consider when planning building a hospital is the electromagnetic fields which will be present. High signal peaks could generate unwanted electromagnetic interferences in electro-medical equipment, which may result in a wrong diagnosis or treatment for the patient, and also an over-exposition for workers and physicians. In this work, a new methodology for the generation of intensity level maps of electromagnetic fields taken in each unit of a hospital is proposed. A set of samples situated on a grid of a certain dimension is collected, and processed subsequently. Several level curves have been obtained, showing that this methodology could help in the design of new health centres.
