We demonstrate a high-power, continuous-wave optical parametric oscillator (OPO) using a 50 mm long, congruently-grown, periodically-poled LiTaO_3 crystal and pumped by a high-power green fiber laser. A detailed discussion is presented on the early onset of saturation in idler power due to thermal-dephasing which is primarily dictated by crystal characteristics. We also carry out splitstep based simulation to confirm the impact of thermo-optic effects on conversion efficiency.
