Space debris is a great threat for all types of missions. To prevent collisions, orbits of dangerous debris must be estimated with high accuracy. Some debris is located in specific orbits and can be observed only from Arctic regions. Optical telescopes can be successfully used for registration of space debris. They help to detect even relatively small objects. Arctic-based space monitoring system could be useful instrument of detecting space debris on specific orbits. However, severe weather conditions and lack of logistics making the implementation of such a system difficult. Various problems should be solved to make the system effective and. In order to explore arctic conditions an expedition was performed. In order to more accurately determine the orbits of space objects, precise algorithm of finding object coordinates on image is needed. The algorithm required to be resistant for natural and technical disturbances. As result, prototype of image processing algorithm that is convenient for use in arctic conditions was implemented.
