Chromium absorption using modified zeolites in the form of mono-cation (H-Zeolite) was carried out. Modifications are intended to increase the ability of ion exchange. Modifications made were chemical activation by adding ammonium chloride solution and physical activation by calcination. The zeolite used in this study was obtained from Kasongan area, Yogyakarta city, Indonesia. Whereas, the liquid waste was obtained from the electroplating industry PT. Mega Andalan Electroplating. The parameter used for this study is the ratio of zeolite mass with the liquid waste samples. The ratio used in this study were 1:5, 1:7,1:10,1:20 and 1:50. From the results of the study, it can be found that there was an increase in the ability of ion exchange in the modified zeolite and the optimum ratio occured at ratio of 1:7. Whereas, the absorption efficiency was 13.44%.
