Delivering Comprehensive Reports for the Pan-European Research Network based on ITIL Best Practices

Delivery of Advanced Network Technology to Europe (DANTE) has set up an in-house Network Operations Centre (NOC) to support the Gigabit European Academic Network (GéANT) and other networks. Several processes and monitoring tools have been put in place to support this operational environment. Each tool provides a view of the performance of the services and their components. A reporting infrastructure that integrated the output from these tools was required to present the results to end users. This paper describes the relevant concepts used to build that reporting infrastructure.
