The current trend on the harvester market shows that more and more machines are sold in the upper range of performance (exceeding 700 HP). The reasons for this can be found in the field of the growing market of biological energy recovery, like biogas plants or biomass heaters and growing dairies. In addition to this, we have the growing need of more performance and efficiency during the harvest. Next to the possibilities of more power and bigger headers, in order to decrease the diesel fuel per ton of harvested fresh mass, the efficiency of self propelled forage harvesters is more and more becoming a focus of the development.
