摘要

The influence of small alkali additions on some properties of silver-cadmium oxide contact materials produced by powder metallurgy was studied. The main emphasis of the investigation was laid on the influence of alkali content on sintering of the compacts, on arc mobility in a model type apparatus, and on the erosion behaviour in commercial contactors of medium capacity. Small additions of lithium and solium were found to improve the as-sintered density of the compacts and some materials properties depending thereon. Arc mobility was increased by these alkali additions within a certain concentration range. The electrical endurance was significantly improved only by lithium additions in about the same concentration range.
