In spite of the spectacular development of the microprocessors in the recent years, the industrial control still depends mainly on contacts. The users are becoming, however, more and more conscious about the reliability of such control circuits. As soon as the control circuits are of some complexity, a number of contacts are connected in series, in parallel or in series-parallel. For the estimation of the reliability of such circuits, mostly simplifying assumptions are suggested. The present paper aims at predicting the reliability of such circuits with the help of statistical method of simulation. A comparison of the simulated and measured values backs up the recommended method.
