Jiangxi is situated in the south bank of the mid-low reaches of Yangtze River, and is surrounded with mountains in its three other sides. The landform is high in the southern part and low in the northern. The south is mountainous and hilly land; the middle is hills alternated with basins, and the north is Poyang Lake Plain.
