FOREST RESOURCES IN THE TROPICS - A REALITY CHECK

This paper gives a brief account on the following aspects regarding the forest resources in the tropics: forest area, change in forest area, wood volume and woody biomass, forest plantations, and wood supply. Particular references are made on the Southeast Asian region.
