Measuring Your Safety Health Process-Smurfit-Stone's Approach

In an effort to evaluate and effectively measure a location's safety and health process, Smurfit-Stone's Containerboard Mill Division (CMD) has established an internal, comprehensive approach to evaluate and measure all elements in a defined safety and health system. This process outlines the requirements in both the safety management system and OSHA compliance standards required of each mill. The process quantifies the facilities progress with the implementation of those elements and establishes a facility benchmark to measure continuous improvement in future evaluations.
