We develop a numerical simulation code based on the method of moment (MOM) to solve the volume integral equation (VIE). We apply an iterative technique called generalized conjugate residual method (GCR) to solve the VIE, which improves the computation time. Scattering of optical waves by metallic materials can be accurately computed with reasonable computational cost. A simulation of a simplified system of apertureless scanning near-field optical microscope has been performed and its basic characteristics under both incident p-polarized and s-polarized evanescent field have been investigated in detail.
