Lateral motion of axially traveling long paper on a rubber roller is studied theoretically and experimentally. Due to the fact that paper positioning accuracy using a rubber roller is not very accurate, the accuracy of the printed images will get worse. thus a dynamic skewroller paper feeding system which enables one to feed long paper without lateral deviation has been developed. This new system steers and obliquely loads a steel roller against a rubber one in response to the lateral motion of the paper. By deriving and solving the basic equations of the system, it is found that an infinite length of paper can be fed without lateral deviation. Moreover it is verified that 5 meters of paper could be experimentally fed without lateral deviation, with the result that the accuracy of the printed images improved.
