The Design, Development, and Implementation of a Windows Based Client/Server Application for Environmental Monitoring

摘要

This paper discusses the design features of a true client/server Windows NT based DAHS recently developed by Black & Veatch. This new system uses a true client server architecture which allows local or remote access. It also uses a temportal database which ensures data integrity even in the event of an unexpected loss of power or system crash. In addition, the system incudes ODBC access for use of a wide variety of tools in system output and reporting. This system's flexibility allows it to be configurable in screens and data organization; therefore, it can be molded to suit a user's specific situation.
