The paper deals with a simple solution of the secondary voitage control problem which essentially reduces resources required for its implementation in the electric power system. In order to achieve that goal, a highly decentralized version of the secondary voitage control is derived, called local decentralized secondary voitage control. The proposed secondary voitage controllers are attached to each generating bus or ULTC employing for its operation knowledge of the power system behavior and local information only. The proposed control concept exhibiting a high degree of autonomous behavior is tested on different networks and its efficacy is dcmonstrated.
