Multiple-beam antennas (MBAs) are attractive for satellite EHF frequency-hopped signal applications because of their wide bandwidth and light weight. Adaptive nulling techniques are often used to suppress jammers and other interference. Nulling entails weighting the received signal from each beam. All weighted signals are linearly combined to provide an output. From estimates of the correlation between the various received beam signals and by minimizing the interference in the output, the weights are determined. Detection of the desired signals in the output is then carried out.
