In summary, compared to the typical foreland basin around the world, the foreland basin in Tarim basin characterized by Carboniferous paralic deposit in epeiric sea and Jurassic-Cretaceous coal and/or lacustrine deposits within the inland depression, rather than a marine deposit in the passive marginal environment. Corresponding to this characters, humic organic matter of the coal measures, which are gas prone, make the thrust slip belts be enriched in gas deposits and the second and third structural belt are the best target for the gas exploration.
