An Analysis of the Fishing Performance on the Reformed Light-Seine Net in Xiamen

In this study, the results of the reformed light-seine net in Xiamen are repored. The light-seine net in Xiamen is nted for its small ratio of length to height, small hanging ratio and special operating methods in our country. Onorder to adapt it to new fishery environments, the traditional net was reformed by increasing net length and height, experimental rsults show that the fishing capacity of reformed light-sine has been obviously imp9roved and its economic results are very remarkable. It is favorable for the light-seine to fish in deeper sea or off-lying sea and to conserve the rish resource.
