Gas-carburizing continuous pusher-type furnace installations are amongst the most technically - and economically interesting installations for the case hardening of high-volume mass-production parts. These installations provide very good, reproducible heat treatment results. In economic terms, the optimum usage of the installation results in the lowest manufacturing costs coupled with the highest quality.In recent years, especially in the field of gas-carburizing, significant trendsetting developments have been made. This paper makes use of examples to present fully automatically operating continuous pusher-type furnace installations for high-volume production, which satisfy the requirements placed on modern heat treatment installations.
