The production of composite castings in large numbers also demands preheating of the elements to be cast in, as appropriate for the casting process. In general, the use of robots in mass production is nowadays standard practice. In thermal processes, however, further development work is needed in relation to the level of automation, integration into the product flow, and process flexibility.
