In conformity with the constant trend toward automation, links between furnace installations and fully automated removal Systems are being implemented with increasing frequency. Reliable removal of a number of components simultaneously using a robot gripper generally necessitates a three-dimensional tolerance of ± 0.5 mm in all axes. The problem requiring solution is further complicated by the fact that cyclical conveyance through a furnace installation results in expansion not only of the conveying system but also of the conveyed product. A conveying and positioning system which ensures constant positioning in all three axes in the removal zone despite the expansion of the materials occurring as a result of heating has been developed for a continuous furnace.
