Associating microwave radar tracks with relocatable over-the-horizon radar (ROTHR) tracks using the advanced tactical workstation
In a future implementation of the relocatable over-the-horizon radar (ROTHR) system, tracks formed in overlapping coverage may be fused with microwave radar tracks to enhance the localization accuracy. A proper association of the ROTHR tracks to the microwave radar tracks prior to their fusion is essential to this process. The paper discusses the application of the advanced tactical workstation (ATW) for the association of ROTHR tracking data with truth targets held by the combined en-route radar approach (CERAP) microwave radar system. This association is demonstrated using a data set consisting of CERAP microwave radar target tracks and concurrently held ROTHR tracks. These tracks are associated by the ATW tracking algorithm and presented to the operator as candidate track associations.
