Improved Affine Projection Algorithms with Momentum Term

Momentum term based affine projection (AP) algorithm can accelerate the convergence speed of the conditional AP filter at a cost of increased misadjustment. Two schemes are proposed in this paper to improve the performance of the momentum AP algorithm: one is to use an adaptive momentum factor to avoid the confliction between convergence speed and misadjustement; the other combines two momentum AP filters with different momentum factors to achieve the advantages of both filters. The simulation results show that the two proposed algorithms can effectively improve the performance of the momentum AP filter with fast convergence speed and small steady-state error.
