In order to adapt to the new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial reform, to implement the national strategy of innovation-driven development and to cultivate “new engineering” talents with “strong practical ability”, the definition and ability dimension of “double-qualified and double-capable” teachers in application-oriented colleges and universities are inevitably endowed with new requirements of The Times. By analyzing the definition and research status of “double-qualified and double-able” teachers at home and abroad, this paper puts forward the conception of “5C” competence model of “double-qualified and double-able” teachers for the first time, and expounds its connotation and relevant relationship. Finally, this paper makes a preliminary exploration on how to cultivate the “5C” ability of “double-qualified” teachers.
