Based on SSLB500 continuous sheathing machine, by four-channel continuous sheathing process, the continuous extrusion process of 0178x4 mm cable aluminum sheath were numerically simulated. The velocity, temperature and stress fields were observed under extrusion wheel speed of 7 RPM, results show that the distributions of velocity and temperature field are axial symmetry , and the velocity and temperature on the profile at the outlet of the die are uniform. The experiment of four-channel continuous sheathing of Φ178 x 4 mm cable aluminum sheath were conducted and the product properties were tested, the results show that the large diameter cable aluminum sheath can be made by four-channel process, and the roundness reaches 98.96%, the concentricity reaches 90%; The bonding strength of the weld zone is 63.4 MPa and the elongation is 37.5%.
