Under the conditions of entry of most major oil fields of Russia in the late stage of operation increase reserves and production is provided mainly on the flanks and at the expense of small local deposits. Operational and detailed addition to the land seismic is the borehole seismic. The main objective of vertical seismic profiling (VSP) and offset VSP (OVSP) is a refinement of the geological structure of near-space wells for the design of new wells. Geological problems also are: identification of tectonic faults, the forecast evaluation of oil and gas reservoirs in the borehole environment, the identification and evaluation of fracture-oriented recommendations on further drilling. It may also be a forecast of geology, areas of abnormally high reservoir pressure. The problem of seismic observation wells required for the successful processing of surface seismic data (CDP-2D, -3D) solves simultaneously.
