In order to examine a water environmental improvement, the human sense on water environment is very important criteria. However, the human sense on water environment has not been discussed in detail. This study examined the feature of the human sense on dirtiness, color and smell of water environment in river side and relation between the human sense and hydraulic/weather conditions which are tide, rain situation and seasonal change. The study area is the Hori River which flows at the center part of Nagoya city, Japan. In this study, the human sense data of 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 year observed by Horikawa Sennin Chosatai were treated. Horikawa Sennin Chosatai is a citizen group which is interested in water environment of the Hori River. From the analysis of these data, the time and the area on the worst condition of dirtiness, color and smell were obtained. Moreover, the difference of the human sense between dirtiness and smell was shown clearly. Finally, the human sense models were developed with Hayashi's quantification methods. The validity of the models, the difference of analysis results between dirtiness and smell, and future subjects were shown by comparison prediction results and questionnaire results.
