Proton-coupled electron transfer (PCET) is ubiquitous and one of fundamental reactionprocesses observed in many redox reactions including water oxidation in the photosynthesis.In a PCET process,a proton and an electron are accepted at a proton acceptor and anelectron acceptor,respectively,in a stepwise or concerted manner.
