Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs),such as pyrene and benzo[a]pyrene,arenaturally found in the tar and oil.Since some of PAHs are known to be carcinogenic andmutagenic,the efficient host molecules to detect PAHs are widely desired.The ladder typeassemblies of electron deficient-molecules are considered to be effective as hostmolecules for PAHs,since the donor-acceptor interactions between the hosts and PAHs areexpected.1
