With increasing demands for heat energy due to global warming and growing industries inthe developing countries,the interest in energy-efficient cooling and heating systems haveproliferated.Adsorption heat pumps,which utilizes the heat released and absorbed in theadsorption and desorption process of water,can provide a better approach towards efficientuse of low-grade waste heat that is abundantly available,but unutilized.Up to this day,therehas been progress in the systematic and mechanical components in these devices.However,the water adsorbent,the most fundamental component in these devices,is stillunderdeveloped.
