The state of education and the education itself is not only the engine of the economy at the time, but it is mainly the mirror of the development of society. The role of education systems is to transfer new knowledge in science towards young people. In physics, this role is particularly important because the knowledge of physics fundamentally changes the way of life, economy and society. The issues of transfer of physical knowledge are dealt with in a relatively young yet more important discipline - the theory of physics teaching or simpler didactics of physics. For the past 40 years, it has meant a qualitative shift in the theory and practice of this young scientific discipline and the organizers of DIDFYZ conferences had the goal not only to participate in these changes, but to be their initiators and creators. The platform for creating new ideas in the theory of physics teaching should have been regular meetings at two-year intervals, which gradually grew into an internationally recognized DIDFYZ conference.
