The mathematical model of the Pentegov arc and its various variants resulting from the selection of static-voltage characteristics are presented. The use of a source forcing a rectangular wave current in the circuit has made it possible to determine the values of unmeasurable state currents and the arc time constant depending on them. Using the inverse conductance function, the status current values of the selected variant of the Pentegov model were determined, depending on the measurable extreme values of arc current and voltage. Using simulation tests, the effectiveness of the proposed two-point method for determining the time constant of selected variants of the mathematical model of the arc was tested.
