Distribution of the atmospherically deposited radioactive cesium in forest in Fukushima Prefecture and development of eco-friendly technology for its decontamination(4)

摘要

Forests occupied 71 % in Fukushima have captured huge amounts of radioactive materials, which were released into the atmosphere due to the accident at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant (FDNPP) in March 2011. The whole decontamination of the forest has not been conducted even in Satoyama neighboring to the inhabited area. Radioactive materials deposited in the forest are thought to be not only circulating inside the forests but also re-suspended as bioaerosols into the atmosphere.
