Highly defined block copolymers are a fascinating class of polymers,as they can combine very different properties into a single polymer molecule.In this paper we present a novel class of block copolymers with perfluorinated side chains in one pol Hong Kong ymer block.Those fluorinated block copolymers are extremely surface active and show excellent compatibility with commercial coating systems.In this paperwe will presentdata from various analytical measurements(eg.SIMS profiling,surface energy measurements,etc.)on additivated coating surfaces which prove the surface activity of the new polymers leading to extremely low surface energies of the final coating surfaces.The highly structured polymer architecture makes very efficient use of the surface active fluorinated side chains.Compared to conventional fluoro-acrylate additives shorter side chains can be used resulting in more sustainable products.
