Hydrogen-bonded organic frameworks (HOFs) have attracted interests as new functional porous materials, which show high crystallinity and regenerable nature. Development of functional HOFs, however, is still challenging due to relatively weak connection between molecular components. In connection with this, we demonstrated that hexaazatriphenylene (HAT) derivatives can be good building blocks to construct rigid HOFs with permanent porosity due to shape-fitted tight stacking among HAT cores.
