Smartphones and tablets unit shipments are now more than 1.4 billion units and they become electronics as daily necessities. Their electronics equip several optical devices such as displays, touch sensors, image sensors (cameras), etc. A lot of kinds of clear coatings are used as important components for the devices. However, the coatings like conventional positive photosensitive acryl and polyimide are insufficient in any of characteristics such as colorless transparency in a visible light region, heat and light resistance, fine patternability (high resolution), refractive index, and low temperature curability. Therefore, it has been required that development of novel positive photosensitive clear coatings.
