When UV laser is irradiated into an aqueous solution of palladium ions, Pd(II), containing an alcohol, Pd particle is generated. Recently we found that the irradiation of the nanosecond pulsed laser to the Pd(II) generates submicron-sized particle, whereas the irradiation of the CW laser forms nano-sized particle (Fig. 1). It suggests that the laser irradiation contributes to the particle formation in the pulsed laser.
